See Our Technology in Action:

Watch our video showcasing the potential of FOSS-1.

The videos illustrate various situations in which the system is used for fire suppression in the field, including clips showing variations in throw distance and functions. The system can be remotely controlled by firefighters on the ground and in the air, which provides greater precision and control during operations. At the same time, it demonstrates how the helicopter can transport the FOSS-1 while maintaining a safe distance and ensuring a high level of safety for the crew on the ground.

Key features:

PRECISION FROM THE AIR - SAFETY ON THE GROUND

FOSS-1 is a spray head designed for controlled and targeted water discharge. With a focus on precision, throw distance, and stable performance, this solution contributes to efficient resource utilization and increased safety for ground crews.
Our technology ensures accurate water discharge that maximizes efficiency and reduces waste. Remote control enables high-precision aerial firefighting, which reduces risk and safeguards the safety of firefighters on the ground.

EFFECTIVE FIRE SUPPRESSION

This technology ensures a plentiful water supply and impressive spray range. With flexible connection options to various water sources, the solution can be used anywhere.

Technical Specifications and Features:

Foss -1:
Foss-1 is a spray head used to extinguish fires from the air and can be mounted on a fire truck.

  • Made of 316L stainless steel.
  • 1 meter from flange to flange.
  • It has a 4-inch Slurrykat swivel.
  • Sprinkler heads that activate at 57°C to protect equipment from radiant heat.
  • Total weight of spreader head, cannons, and feet, coupling head, and chain: 60 kg
  • Foss-1: A 4" water-filled hose, 100 meters long, including the spray head, weighs approximately 1,050 kg

Fire cannons:

  • 2 Elkhart Brass EXM2 horns, the same type used on fire trucks
  • Each cannon has its own 9 Ah lithium battery, with an operating time of approximately 4–5 hours.
  • Does not require power from the helicopter.

Remote control:

  • Tele-Radio remote control.
  • Range: approx. 600 meters in open terrain.
  • Comes with 2 transmitters.

Strength and lifting:

  • Tensile-tested to 3,500 kg.
  • Certified for a total weight of 2,700 kg.
  • Two lifting points, one in each flange (1,350 kg each).

Hoses and heat shields:

  • 4-inch supply hose.
  • Can be protected with Pyrojacket, which withstands 1090°C for 15 minutes.
  • When the system is in use, water flows down the hose and cools it.

Documentation:

  • International documentation, a declaration of conformity, a user manual, and certificates are included.

Use of Foss -1:

  • Water is needed from fire truck pumps, mobile pumps, portable pumps, or fireboats.
  • Withstands 34 bar with the Elkhart cannons.
  • Standard pumps deliver 14–15 bar, but the system is most often operated at 7–10 bar.
  • Works well from a helicopter at altitudes of up to 100 meters.
  • At 100 meters, a pressure of 4–5 bar is effective.
  • Even a little rain makes a big difference.

Test data:

  • Tested at 10 bar and approximately 3,000 liters per minute.
  • Cast length approx. 140 meters.
  • Water supplied by one fire truck.

Traditionally, boundary lines require:

  • long hose runs
  • a large crew
  • assistance from the Civil Defense
  • time-consuming handling of hoses, spray nozzles, distributors, and pumps

With our method, we use helicopters instead of manual transport.

Helicopters in Norway can lift about 1,000 kg and get the job done in a fraction of the time.

This allows the containment line to be established closer to the fire and much more quickly.

The helicopter takes off:

  • hoses with larger dimensions than standard fire hoses
  • distributors/branches
  • water cannons
  • connection points every 100 meters

This results in:

  • more water until the fire
  • faster extinguishing
  • less risk to ground crew
  • a multi-system that can also be used for fire suppression

You can also use standard 2 1/2-inch fire hoses by using a simple 4-inch adapter.

The method requires a good water supply, but the water flow can be regulated so that only the necessary amount is used.
Nevertheless, the system is highly efficient.
